ED takes UP Police Constable Recruitment Exam Paper Leak accused’s custody

The Enforcement Directorate (ED), Lucknow has taken the custody of two masterminds of a money laundering case linked to the alleged Uttar Pradesh Police Constable Recruitment Exam and some other tests conducted by the state public service commission in 2023, officials said on Tuesday.
The ED took the custody of Ravi Attri and Subhash Prakash, lodged in jail following their arrest in April by UP police Special Task Force (STF), after an order issued to this effect by the special Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) court in Lucknow in the paper leak case.
Allegations against Attri and Prakash are that they leaked the Uttar Pradesh Police Constable Recruitment Exam and Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission’s (UPPSC) RO (review officer) and assistant review officer (ARO) exam in 2023.
“They and their associates “leaked” question papers of these exams and generated proceeds of crime by providing these leaked papers to aspirants before the scheduled date,” an ED staement said. “Arrangements were made for candidates to gather at resorts in Manesar in Haryana and in Rewa, Madhya Pradesh,” it added.
The ED also found out that credits and cash deposits were observed in the bank accounts of the accused just after the release of exam notifications and till/after the date of the exam.
